  9. This software is provided at no charge for those that can ill afford other
  10. expensive software for the same purpose.

  12. The bible as provided with this software is in ASCII format KJV which makes
  13. it readable using any ASCII reader or editor. It also provides a limited
  14. capability search module in the executable program names SEARCH.EXE. It
  15. should be noted that are a few limitations.
  16.  
  17.      1. Only whole word or phrases containing whole words may be
  18.         used. It will not matter if that word or phrase is followed
  19.         by any sort of punctuation.
  20.      2. If a verse contains more than one line of text, phrases that
  21.         are split between two lines will not be found. The program
  22.         functions as a line search mechanism.
  23.      3. Since it is ASCII text being searched, it may take some time
  24.         to complete a search. Its slow, BUT FREE.
  25.  
  26. DO NOT CHANGE THE NAMES OF THE FILE CONTAINING THE BIBLE TEXT IF PLANNING
  27. TO UTILIZE THE SEARCH PROGRAM. THIS ALSO APPLIES TO THE PROGRAM BOOKS.EXE.

  29. After a search is completed, view the file FINDS1.MSP for a listing of the
  30. books, chapter and verses where those matches were found. FINDS2.MSP file
  31. contains a report on how many matches were found in each book.

  33. When searching, the search string may be entered on the command line or
  34. you will be prompted for it when the program starts.
  35.  
  36. You may search either or both of the Testaments but may not as yet search
  37. a single book. Look for that upgrade soon.
